Hymn

The morning chorus explodes
Twisting every inner emotion.
Alive, they remember me I am alive.
One more lonely night is in the past
Another life stands ahead.
Music is everywhere,
Like memories of who I am.
It’s time! I cry out to nobody,
I need to write my own hymn,
Carving into notes and words
Each uneatable pain I carry.
Sinking into silence, voice lost,
Tears rain unhindered
Numbness starts to pull
No, I will not surround
Choosing the words of liberation,
Suppressing the natural depression
Inside I know the truth,
Outside is just a fantasy, a pretence.
I resist your call,
This time no sharp blades,
No red drops on the ground,
Just tears, and hope.
